The healer gives a perspective of Gethis centuries after the stories of queen Ande and Peeper, et al. It is interesting to Touch on the different changes that were first set in place in the early books and see how they have evolved into the "present time" and also how they have influenced what is happening now, and the changes that are about to happen.It was an interesting book, with plenty of hot sex and nice SM scenes, which definitely keep it a nice erotic level, but it really wasn't one of my favorite in the series… After all none of my favorite characters are in it anymore.
Even so, it was a good read and an interesting look at different kinds of cultures that may have developed or will develop in the universe of Gethis.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters, the history, and the story line were very intriguing. I will read more from this author!

This is the first book I read by TylerRose, and I was beyond impressed with the imagery she creates and the character development that is done throughout the book. I was drawn in from the very first page, and won't like, a lot of the scenes are super HAWT!! I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of her works!!
tyler rose takes us on another wild ride through the history of gethis with raine, a girl with a unique relationship with pain. we feel her every nuance...the pleasures and the tortures of her lot in life, her tribulations and triumphs over the predicaments she finds herself in. this author writes erotica that transcends the genre and feeds us erotic literature in a whole new flavor! i cannot wait for the next installment!
For those who love gritty, realistic historical tales combined with explicit sexual interactions and BDSM without any sugar coating, this book is HOT!! TylerRose writes another Gethis novel, and adds to the rich tapestry of the series. I believe this is my favorite book so far. Several cold drinks were required to finish this book!
This series is not written in historical order. It is possible to read each book alone, it à few are designed to be read in order for better understanding. (The Peeper books are the ones to which I am referring.)
This is worth the money!
I read this story after reading Peeper. In a way, I'm glad I did. In no way will reading this story first be unenjoyable. What is so pleasing about Tyler Rose's works is that in the Gethis History of a Planet series, the stories and novels created blend together in a very natural and flowing narrative. In that regard, there are events that occur in Peeper that are apparent and a nice plot point in The Healer. Conversely, if one were to read The Healer first, then Peeper, as they are reading Peeper, there will be an "Ahh!" moment as the links and bridges of events form. In any instance, it's an enjoyable feeling.
Why does such a matter seem important? Tyler Rose is a wonderful author. It is apparent from the product that she produces each and every time that she is serious about her craft. This is most noticeable in the details and consistency of characters and ideas that span from one novel to the next. The Healer takes elements from Peeper, which occurs hundreds of years prior in the world created, and expands upon them in the novel's current events. It is this attention to detail that make the works of Tyler Rose shine.
The Healer has a great premise and character. Raine can heal people. Such a gift takes its toll though. There are those who doubt her. There are those who mistreat her. There are those who would abuse her. Through all of this, Raine is a strong character. Raine steps up to the challenges and overcomes in a way that is unique and thoughtful. At her core, Raine knows her place. It is the world around her that makes it hard for Raine to find that place of self-fulfillment. It is her innate desire and nature to help others that creates a rift between her and others.
Tyler Rose has a keen knack for creating a subtle conflict of dynamics between characters. She knows exactly how each character behaves and acts. She knows how to convey what they believe and feel. The result is a simply stunning work that draws the reading in. The reader feels like a member of this world. The thoughts, emotions, and beliefs of everyone in Tyler Rose's stories leaves a memorable impression. Much like in real life, the characters are never quite the same at the end of the story. They grow. They change. They evolve. Tyler Rose creates this transition with a master's pace and understanding.
THe Healer as a story is an interesting read. There are bits of action, there are moments of suspense, and there are instances of surprise. Raine sets out to assist a colony in need of her abilities. Quickly Raine finds herself in a predicament that would send her to the highest bidder for unknown reasons. It is in this situation, where Raine is left up to chance, that allows the character to blossom. Never does Raine compromise her beliefs and core values. She finds fulfillment in her natural state of servitude. Even in the toughest of times, Raine does her best to meet the conditions required of her. The struggle that Raine faces is relatable on various levels. How many times has a person faced a tough choice? In the end, each of us does our best. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we don't. Raine faces that challenge with grace and dignity, and in doing so leaves a deep impression that lasts well after the pages stop turning.
Tyler Rose has another great skill that she easily dashes into the story. Erotic, provoking, and passionate scenes pepper the story throughout. To any seeking a great novel that has depth, character, plot, AND great sex, it is hard to find an author that has skill enough to combine all elements. Tyler Rose is such an author. The scenarios and scenes she creates are inventive and imaginative to say the least. The odds are good that whatever enjoyment one might have in real life is expressed with great detail and enticement. Not only are the ideas and descriptions used by Tyler Rose compelling and arousing, the impression left after reading the scenes are heightened even more from the deep level of character display. Each character is greatly involved in the scene. Some erotic stories read like an instruction manual of positions. Tyler Rose creates an art out of arousing imaging along with the thoughts, feelings, and desires of the characters. This creates a lasting sense of the scene. Even after time has passed, it is still easy to recall some of the great scenes of this story.
The Healer also is a great story. There is mystery, action, and suspense all the way until the end of the story. I am hesitant to reveal too much and spoil the great surprises the story has. I would say simply read and enjoy.
