Perfect pick for parents and adolescents to read together. Great book to use as a conversation starter for those, sometimes difficult "talks". I was pulled into eighth grade right along with Mack. Dziak does such a superb job of developing Mack that I feel like I know her;) It is such a hard, and many times, cruel, world in middle school for so many kids. Mack, is the insecure, awkward, lost little girl in us all. Thanks for giving us a voice:) It is so important for parents to see their child's world through their eyes. This book does exactly that! Every adolescent, along with the adults in their life, should have this little gem on their bookshelf!Product details

This book is excellent. I am an avid reader and this book is very well written. It's the kind of book you don't want to put down until the end, and even then you find yourself wanting more. This is a great 1st book by this young writer and I cant wait to read her future works.
Mack the Invisible is a terrific book! Read it, buy it, give it to every tween you know or can find! Donate it to your school library. Mack is a very real, touching character, and young girls will take to heart the challenges she deals with throughout the book. The writing is crisp, funny, and moving. Excellent story, great characters. More Mack, please!
Dziaks book is a wonderful read. She was able to send me right back to the eighth grade. Middle school can be such an awkward time for kids and her book allows them to see that it's really tough on everyone! Mack is such a fun character to get to know. She's a sweet young girl trying to figure it all out and learns some valuable lessons along the way. I look forward to seeing what happens for Mack in ninth grade!
This is a great book with memorable characters, and the author made me feel like I was right back in middle school during those awkward and dramatic years with so many ups and downs. I would definitely recommend this for kids in middle school and parents with middle schoolers.
This book is such a great addition to the adolescent/middle school genre of books. Who doesn't remember those awkward years where you don't know where you fit in and who your true friends are? Mack is experiencing that for herself, along with the awkwardness of first kisses, friends developing more quickly than she does, and finding out that even in middle school, lots of backstabbing can occur. This is a fantastic book to read with your middle schooler to begin a conversation with your preteen about lots of issues that come up during the years that many believe are the hardest. It's funny, the characters are believable and well-developed, and the writing is superb. Can't wait to see what Mack is up to next!

I quickly found myself immersed in the world of Westbrook Middle School, a place that feels familiar to all of us. The main character, Mack, faces the highs and lows that adults can relate to and adolescents are going through now. Dziak does an admirable job of drawing readers into Mack's life and making us feel like we're experiencing everything alongside her. There also are valuable lessons for younger readers. This debut novel could be the start of something big!
